How To Get Motivated When You Feel Like Quitting

For the past few weeks, I’ve been in a bit of a slump. I’m not sure whether it’s because of the holidays, the weather, or I’m just NOT feeling it at all. I do get in these moods sometimes where I just want to lay in bed all day, but they normally only last a few days – this has been a few weeks.

I have been feeling so unmotivated, undetermined, and just ready to quit altogether. Although I may think about quitting from time to time, I know that I won’t. I feel like it is the universe telling me that I need to take some time for myself and regroup. Life can get a bit overwhelming and it can and WILL throw you off your A-game! And I’m talking about throwing you WAY off!

However, I’ve been trying to spark some fire and get myself back on track because I am behind on so much. And that adds on to the stress.

The good thing is I have a few tips on how to get motivated when you feel like giving up. I know I’m not the only one who has felt like this and I am hoping some of these tips help you a bit.

Learn Your Why //
You have to know WHY you are doing something, whether it’s blogging, youtube, or starting your own business. For example, I blog because I want to help and inspire others to grow in all aspects of life. I blog about things that not only help me, but it also helps others as well. Learning my why has been one of the reasons that I keep pushing. So, learning your why is very important before you start ANYTHING!

Motivational Videos/Podcast //
Listening to a motivational video and/or podcast may help spark some motivation and creativity for you. It definitely does for me. Most of the time, I go out for a walk and I listen to a video or podcast just to get me going. Youtube has A LOT of motivational videos to choose from. As for the podcast, I listen to Candace from YogaByCandace or Lori from Earn Your Happy Podcast, just to name a few.

Create a Vision Board //
Have you ever made a vision board? If not and if you are not familiar with what a vision board even is – it is a tool to help you visualize and concentrate on the goals that you would like to achieve in your life. It’s a fun and effective tool. It will definitely get you in the mood and get you motivated. If you get a spark when it comes to talking about your goals, you’ll feel the FIYAHHwhen it comes to creating a vision board. What we visualize and feed our minds become our reality. Here are a few things that you can place on your vision board :

  • Goals
  • Affirmations
  • Quotes that inspire you

Accountability Partner //
An accountability partner is someone who pushes you and helps you stay committed and stay on TOP of your game. This is why it is so important to have a tribe of like-minded men/women surrounding you to be there to motivate you and give you a little boost when you’re not feeling at your best. However, even if you do not have a tribe of like-minded individuals to hold you accountable, DO NOT WORRY! There are many apps that will help you find an amazing partner who is just the right fit for you!

I hope these tips help you in some way, however, don’t be too hard on yourself. We are all human and we have to realize that some days we won’t feel up to doing much – do not beat yourself up. That just means you need to take a little time for yourself – recuperate and try again later.

I’ve felt that way a few days ago when my best friend sent me a look to recreate and I told her I didn’t feel like doing anything and was losing motivation…Of course, she gave me a swift “kick in the tail” and reminded me of why I needed to keep going.   4. This is so on point I have been feeling the same way. I go through stages that I’m all energized and there comes a point that I’m just drained. I’ve never tried a vision board I can see how helpful it is, because it will keep you focused. And knowing your why is definitely the most important step to starting anything at all.
