I’ve been sitting on this post for a long time now. Trying to figure out where to start or if I should even write this..
But, here I am typing away! So let’s get started.
In my blogging career, I’ve taken many breaks here and there and let me tell you why!
I talk a lot about self-help and motivation, however, sometimes I can’t bring myself to write when I don’t feel as if I’m in a great headspace. For example, I don’t want to post about motivation when I’m not even feeling a tab bit motivated myself. Sometimes, my breaks are longer than others and I would like to apologize for leaving you all hanging.
Life can become very overwhelming and lately that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. However, its been over a month since I’ve blogged and I think it’s about time to jump right back into my craft — I missed it.
So, here’s a full life update Q&A for those of you who are wanting to know what has been going on.
Life Update Q&A
Q – Where have you been?
A – To be quite honest I took a break to focus more on my mental health and trying to get my content in order. Which lead to me feeling so unmotivated and depressed that I felt like I was falling apart. It’s the worse feeling! And, if you’ve ever felt that way you’re not alone.
But, I am here writing this post! So, I feel that I am in a much better place now. I’m getting back on Youtube + I just celebrated my 22nd birthday! So, I told myself it’s about time to get my stuff together. Here’s a post ALL about getting your STUFF together (15 Motivational Quotes to Stop Procrastination and Get Sh** Done)
Q – What is the most important thing in your life?
A – My loved ones are the most important thing in my life. I read something in my devotional today and it really made me realize a lot. In my devotional, it talked about how being grateful and showing gratitude can increase the happiness and joy in your life. At times we can become very discontent and ungrateful for the ones around us. We begin to take people for granted, so I’ve been expressing my gratitude a lot lately.
When was the last time you told your loved ones how grateful you are for them?
Q – How would you like to inspire people through your blog and/or Youtube?
A – I want to inspire people by sharing love, light, and positivity through my blog and Youtube. I feel like there is so much good in life. Life is truly beautiful and I would love to show my audience that they can attain that same goodness in their life as well.
Q – How has your life changed around good or bad?
A – My life has definitely changed for the better. I am constantly working on myself each and every day — I hope my journey of self-improvement and self-discovery inspire someone else.
There were times where I did not know where to turn. I had hit rock bottom and even though my only other option was UP I couldn’t bring myself to stand on my own two feet. I can honestly say that now I am in a better headspace and I am constantly looking for ways to improve in all aspects of my life.
Q – What made you start blogging and helping others grow their platform?
A – I began blogging because I needed a positive outlet for what I was going through at the time. I wanted to bring positivity and light into the world because I know how it can be when you’re in a dark place and you need that light. Plus, I’ve always had a love for writing and I thought it would be an amazing idea to put my writing to use and create my own blog.
I wanted to help others grow their platform and form relationships with like-minded individuals because support is so important. If you did not know I have a Facebook group for women who blog and/or have a Youtube channel (Youtube & Blog Creative Bosses)
Q – What are some struggles you went through to get where you are now?
A – Well, life comes with many different struggles and some of those struggles I am still battling with. However, some of my struggles that I’ve gone through and I am still currently going through is depression and anxiety. Every day I take one step at a time, learning, and understanding that I am not perfect and that it’s okay!
It’s all about growing through what you go through and that’s what I am doing. I am growing through all my struggles.
Q – What are some pros and cons of being a role model or a blogger?
A – Some pros of being a role model and/or blogger is that I am inspiring people each and every day through my work. I had a number of people tell me just how inspiring my blog is and that just lets me know that I must be doing something right. I just want to always share my truth.
Some of the cons of being a role model and/or blogger are that I am NOT perfect at all. There are days where I may not feel like blogging, sending emails, or even responding to comments. There are times I go days, weeks, or even months without blogging. I just have to step back sometimes to take care of myself and I hope that my audience understands that.
Q – Which is worse, failing or never trying?
A – For me, I’d say never trying is worse. Failing is all apart of growth — sometimes you’ll fail but that doesn’t mean you have to stop. You continue to move forward, you continue to fail forward until you have succeeded in what you set out to succeed.
Q – Has your greatest fear ever come true?
It’s never easy when losing someone that you thought you’d spend forever with. That’s why I say that its extremely important to be grateful and show appreciation for the people in your life.
Q – Do you have kids?
A – I consider my fur babies my kids <3
Q – If you have to choose never to use Twitter, Instagram or Youtube again, which one would you let go?
A – Definitely Twitter! I actually just deleted the app off my phone a few days ago. I enjoy Youtube way too much — I am currently binge watching Aileen from Lavendaire.
